Alexander Eriksen, MD
Physician in Geriatric Medicine, PhD Fellow at the University of Southern Denmark & Odense University Hospital, and health-tech founder. Researching complex diagnostics, clinical AI workflows, and cross-sectoral readmission prevention.
Current Focus
- 01. The G-UD Trial: Principal investigator in a randomized controlled trial investigating coordinated post-discharge home visits with POCT and geriatrician teleconsultation to prevent hospital readmissions.
- 02. Medical AI & LLM Benchmarking: Evaluating foundation models on diagnostic reasoning and real-world clinical tasks. Invited peer reviewer for Nature (including Google's landmark paper, "Towards Accurate Differential Diagnosis with Large Language Models").
- 03. Digital Health Startup: Founder of a health-tech company (currently in stealth) developing simulation software.
Featured Research
Demonstrated that GPT-4 outperformed clinical readers in diagnosing complex clinicopathological case challenges published in the New England Journal of Medicine. This work gained international recognition and was highlighted by Dr. Eric Topol.
Invited Talks & Lectures
Invited teaching faculty for the AI in Cardiovascular Medicine session. Lecture: "Diagnosing Cardiovascular Disease with AI".
Invited speaker on LLM diagnostic evaluation. Lecture: "Complex Clinical Cases Diagnosed by GPT-4".
Applied Engineering & Infrastructure
- › Agentic AI Orchestration: Architected a multi-node Proxmox environment deploying containerized LLM swarms via LangGraph and FastAPI for automated literature screening and code implementation.
- › Quantitative Finance Lab: Developed an AI-driven, Python-based quantitative analysis environment for algorithmic evaluation of equity markets and automated stock trading strategies.
